Nuvi 660 waypoints

The specs for the 660 on the Garmin webpage says that it has 500 waypoints. On my 660 I only see the capability of having one waypoint on a route in addition to the destination. Am I confused on what Garmin considers a waypoint?

Nuvi 660 Waypoints

The Garmin 660 has the capability to store 500 waypoints, but ony one of your stored waypoints can be used on a route.

confusion granted

say waypoint / think favorite

a waypoint is a stopping point, each favorite is one waypoint.

A route is point A to B. What most of our units lack is the ability to have a route from A to D with stops at B and C. There are however, workarounds.

Anyway, back to your question

So, the 500 waypoint thing means that you can have 500 entries listed under your "Favorites"

Now I got it

Ah, yes, now that makes sense. Too bad Garmin doesn't call "waypoints" "favorites" in their specs since that is what the GPSr calls them. Nothing like confusing us newbies!
