JaVaWa Device Manager won't read my Garmin DriveSmart 61.

I’m trying to create a virtual USB for using Garmin Basecamp with my purchased Gamin maps, and several sources pointed me to JaVaWa Device Manager to help the process along. So I downloaded JDM Ver. 3.9 and tried it with my Garmin DriveSmart 61. My Windows 10 computer reads the Garmin device just fine, but it does not assign drive letters to the internal or SD card storage of the Garmin. Consequently, JDM will not find my Garmin when I use the Scan Drives feature of JDM.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I be able to use JDM with my Garmin device? Is it a matter of somehow assigning Windows drive names to the two storage elements of the Garmin (internal and SD card)? I'm finding nothing about a solution for this in the JaVaWa documentation.

Thanks for your consideration.

Mass storage mode.

You need to change your device from MTP mode to mass storage mode. See Charlie's FAQ: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/41416

Thanks, alandb. I knew there would be an easy solution, but I was not yet able to track down which hidden menu provided access to the setting that needed to be changed.

I'm all set now!
