Running POI from SD card in Zumo

I would like to be able to run POIs directly from my SD card in my Zumo 450. It works, but every time I boot the unit, it prompts me to Manage new data. If I say no thank you, it goes ahead and comes up, and the POIs are available to me. It's just annoying to answer no every time it comes on.

With my c530, every time I would start it up it would ask me if I wanted to load the POIs from the sd card into my Garmin. That became anoying. Then I learned that if you answer yes to the question and then on the following screen say you don't want to be alerted again and also check that you don't want to load the pois, it will stop the anoying screen until you either 1. Change the POIs on your sd card or 2. Update software.

Well, my Zumo does not seem to offer me the choice of not being alerted again, or I can't find it if it does. Anyone know the trick to convincing the Zumo once and for all that I am happy with my POI file on the SD card, stop bugging me!??

Seems like option is not available withZumo

According to Motorcycle Mama, (http://www.poi-factory.com/node/1272) that option is not available and she would just load them onto her Zumo.

Boy, I sure miss MM on this site.

POIs from SD

OK... that's what I'm doing on the 550. Works great.

After you connect the Zumo to your PC... you should see the SD card as a "drive" in Windows Explorer. You DO have to create a POI file folder on the SD card, so POI Loader will "see" it.

After you do that... run POI Loader like you normally would. First, erase/clear custom POI list on your Zumo's hard drive. (I don't have it in front of me, but it's one of the choices in the sequence of using POI Loader.) Second, load your list to the SD card. Remember that you'll have to change the "path" to that file. Use the browse function.

After you get the file loaded. Eject the Zumo, unplug it and restart it. You will be given the choice to manage the new data. Do so. Add them. The next time you start it up... it should be in there and you should not get another prompt.
