-50 wind chill?

US Postal Service has cancelled mail delivery for the state of IA and several surrounding states for tomorrow (Wednesday) due to the expected record breaking wind chills. It is the first time in my lifetime that I can remember that happening. Also, all schools and colleges have cancelled classes.

you people living in the polar vortex stay safe and warm any time the temps get to - temps things get bad fast, don't forget the pets or other critters, birds, check your battery's ,food, gas, wood ,pipe's don't count on your electric always working!

Warming up here in east central Iowa

It is up to minus 9 now with wind chills up to minus 20. I never thought I would consider those temps to be a "warm up" but after the last couple of days, it almost seems "balmy" surprised
