CONFUSED BUT TRYING (BMP/SRF)

I just purchased the GARMIN Nuvi 650 and been trying to find an icon of a semi truck.

I found this websites but accident but it seems to have exactly what I'm looking for not to mention a lot of useful information.

My problem right now though is that I looked at the semi truck icon and it appears to be in bmp format. The GARMIN unit under vehicles has a SRF ext.

I've down loade GARMIN POI software but I'm lost as how to use it. I highlighted the icon and then selected save target as and it's on my hard drive but the POI software says there's nothing there. Also has the the bmp format become an srf format to use as an icon in the vehicle selection.

My time is really short since I'll be back on the road tomorrow night. Would like a semi for my unit but I'm totally lost. This is all rather new to me.

Thanks for any help.

BMP vs SRF

Thanks for the response but that really didn't help. It converts and SRF.

I appreciate your respsone though.

At this time I've just trying to find an semi-truck to load on my unit for now.

Try the Garmin Site,,

I might be wrong, but are you tring to change the Car or arrow on your Garmin..

The BMP files are for the custom POI files that is used to show a location of the entery .

I think you are looking to replace the little image on the map to show your location..

Not to many places are around but Garmin has this area:

http://www8.garmin.com/vehicles/download.jsp

I hope that is what you need!

If you want to build a custom vehicle, check here.

They also have a couple of custom vehicles you can download (one being Lexus RX300), but no semi.

P.S. These vehicles are 'nice', but if you search through the forum you'll see that the novelty wears off and some larger vehicle tends to get in the way...
