POI's not deleting from NUVI 680

I loaded some custom POI's on my NUVI 680 using the POI loader. I can not seem to get them to be cleared out or deleted and some of them have been duplicated. I have used the POI loader to clear them out and I have deleted the \garmin\poi\poi.gpi file, still no luck. Currently the poi.gpi file is zero byte size. Has any one resolved this issue?

Are you using a Mac?
Or is it possible the POIs got installed to the SD card at any time?
Try doing a global search on your unit and SD card for any and all GPI files.
