My findings: My PC did have Mapinstall 4.0.4 and in running its "Check for Updates," it stated "No software updates are available at this time." Manually running the update to 4.2.0 (see first link, above) on my PC installs 4.2.0.
It doesn't sound like a critical update that's needed but it's rather an EU-mandated update maybe related to privacy and record-keeping due to recent changes in laws in the EU. Maybe some of our Users from across the pond will expound on this...

Prompt appeared
So I opened MapInstall and a Prompt window appeared asking if I wanted to install version 4.2.0.
I clicked all the appropriate buttons and all went well. Don't need to install any maps, so I guess testing will have to wait until the next map update and I install the next map version to my 660.

installed on my Windows 10 machines and runs well although there were no map updates at this time.
