Windows Creator & Windows Edge

Microsoft just loaded Creator series last night, but didn't have time to read the details.

Needless to say they want me to default to Edge, and have been routinely telling me it's better than Firefox.

I don't do a lot of fancy stuff.

I'd appreciate a few thoughts on this. Also, can I import my bookmarks from Firefox to Edge?

Edge

I don't like Edge because of the very limited number of extensions that can be used. It seems that Microsoft must "approve" extensions. I haven't checked recently to see if more have been added. The "reader" mode in Edge is nice, though.

Edge had no problem importing my Chrome favorites.

Yes indeed, MS very frequently pops up in my Chrome when I'm on the MSN.com site recommending I switch to Edge sad

Will Stick With Firefox

Thanks, CraigW . I think I will stick with Firefox for now.

Also couldn't figure out what this new Mail thing is. Still think I will stick with Outlook.

Yup, I never looked at Mail. I use Thunderbird, the closest to my old Eudora, yet still maintained and updated.

Regarding extensions: I see MS now offers 64 extensions, a big increase from when Win10 first came out. But of the 64, only two I found interesting and I installed them ages ago. With Chrome, I have six extensions active.

Insider

Been an MS Insider for a long time and have been running Creators for months now, even since the inception of 10 I've never used Edge as I've been a devotee of Firefox from it's beginning.
Some like Edge..I'm not among them.

My wife's account is on Thunderbird and I use Outlook 2003.

This keeps both accounts separate and easy to use.

.

Personally, I use Chrome, and FF in both Linux, and Windows. Thunderbird in Linux, and Outlook 2007 Enterprise in MS.

Edge was never on the radar for use. Ever.
