The Contributor of the week was based on this email I received from a fellow POI Factory community member.

“Sussamb should be Contributor of the Week!

In Narvick's thread, Nuvi Won't Show Purple Active Route, Narvick's nuvi stopped working correctly after he flew to Florida and rented a car to drive to Palm Beach, on the southeast coast.

With the storm coming, on Tuesday 9/5, Sussamb asked if he had any other maps loaded. Narvick replied that he had a Caribbean map also, which was checked, so he unchecked it and the nuvi was fixed.

Narvick was unable to fly out since his tickets were for Saturday after the airports closed, so he drove out Thursday 9/7 to Atlanta and then North Carolina. He writes, "We were forced to evacuate from Irma from Palm Beach on Thursday with little warning. The Garmin being fixed and working helped *tremendously* and I can't tell you how important it was in the evacuation process."

This is a real POI Factory success story since the site and its contributors, particularly Sussamb, helped on the ground in Florida in an emergency. Narvick's escape would have been much more difficult without a working GPS.”

Thank you, Sussamb and all who helped Narvick get his GPS set correctly so he could get to safety.

Wow ...

My third COW and more importantly glad my help enabled Narvick to escape from the effects of Irma, which we followed closely this side of the pond. Hope all those affected by Irma get the help they need soon.
