Nuvi 680 Quit working

My 3 month old Nuvi 680 quit working on a trip to Erie Pa this past weekend....just when I was starting to trust it too...........It just refused to pick up the satelite signal.........so I took it back to Best Buy today and they replaced it with a brand new one.........Good thing I got the extra 4 year warranty...............Dave

I did not buy a extened warranty and by reading all of the problems I wish I would have.. Even if I had it for quite a few months and have not had any problems with it yet.. I use it almost everyday.
One good thing is since i dont, And it breaks, Wife wont get mad if I upgrade!!! Lol..

Yup - same story.
4 month old Nuvi 670 went belly up also on a long trip.
Would just not acquire any satellites no matter what.
Switched it off and on about 10 times but nothing.
Did a hard reset - still nothing.
Initially thought it might be a satellite signal downgrading as happened when the 2nd Gulf War kicked off and my GPS 72 was unable to receive a singal for about 6 months.
Once the hostilities settled down the signals returned - so I can only assume the military tweaked them to prevent commercial GPS's from being used during military operations.
Checked my GPOS 72's acquisition and it was fine.
So while all the other functions of the Nuvi 670 worked perfectly she was just not seeing any satellites.
And now Carmin is at the hospital
Hopefully should get her back within the week...

Nuvi 680 lemons?
I asked the guy at Best Buy if I was the only one or if others had any problems and he assured me I was an isolated case..........he said it was top of the line.......I tried turning it off and on a million times and resetting it and even upgraded the software but still nothing...not sure what would have happened if I did not spend the extra hundred bucks on the 4 year warranty or would have bought one on ebay..........Dave
