Adding custom POIs to in-dash

Does anyone here know if it is possible to add custom POIs to a 2017 Subaru Outback in-dash GPS? The voice sounds like my Garmin but I really don't know who made it.

Possibly Magellan

Last year, Subaru announced a deal with Magellan who will provide the nav features for future Subaru models. No start date was mentioned however.

Unfortunately, I can't help with custom POI installation.

Sorry

Can't help you with the Subaru, the system in my VW Passat is Garmin based, but nowhere as easy to use as either my 850 or 2797 Garmin. Waypoints can be added but it is a convoluted process.

Same Question for Toyota

I have a Highlander, would be interested in adding custom POIs.

doubt it

That is the only reason I carry my Garmin to supplement the Toyota Entune, not to navigate but to use my old POI accumulated trough the years including RLC.

Best of Both Worlds

The best nav system I've seen to date is the 2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara. It uses a Garmin GPS receiver which is built into the dash and out of sight when not in use. It is easily removable though and connects to a PC for map updates and POI installs.
