Frisbee Golf Courses

As I said before I am new to this GPS and Garmin world (680). I am I have been playing Frisbee for over 25 years and I travel quite a bit to tournaments etc. The PDGA web site contains the coordinates of the courses and I was wondering if any one see the need for this or would like to help in creating this file?

Thank you

Pass #1

What do you mean by Pass #1?

1st pass

What I mean by ‘the first pass’ is the fact that I am running through them as best I can and placing the coordinates per the directions and where I think the parking lots are for the courses - until I actually find a local disc golfer or a person that lives in that state to confirm or adjust the coordinates it will be my best guess – now there are some additional sites that I have been doing some Q/A work with (doing some double checking to see if the coordinates are near or the same). Again this is not as simple as just getting the coordinates from the PDGA these coordinates are wrong and in most cases are for the center of the city or zip code…

Some people get a bit busy, your email might have gotten caught in his spam folder.

I will send him a note.

Miss POI

Sorry...Busy..

Sorry folks I have been really busy with Job #2 which is my photography business, and just got back from a wonderful vacation in which I tested the Virginia file I created...

And Yes Spam folders do their job only on important emails...LOL

My fault completely on this please do not take this as the ball has dropped...its an just an 'E' on my part but it seems I have learned allot of how we can do this for now...

Please PM me again so we can get back on track - I have seperated the files into states so these are more manageable for us to work in..

Miss POI, thanks!

Scott, I sent you my email address. Let me know if you didn't get it.

Frisbee Golf

Both of my sons play Frisbee golf occasionally in Maine. I an not sure how difficult it is as I have never done a POI file. However, if you put the lat, long, name of the place, into an excel file, I think it will work. Also, if you make a field for the state and zip if you wanted to.

I have just imported some POI files into my GPs under extras and it looks like it takes excel files easily. YOu have to download a POI app and then when you run it, you have to point to the excel file location. Once there, it will put the file into the proper format. I think I can experiment. If you look at the formats of the POI files and do an excel spreadsheet in the same manner then save it as a comma separated format file, it will work. Not for sure but if you want to post it, I can try it once I have the file to see if it works. I think it will easily.

I Need Help!

New to this site this morning. I read the 3 page thread on this topic and could not happier that you guys have taken the initiative to get this to happen.

Question: Where do I download the POI file? I looked in the downloads area and it looks like a file from a different user.

What am I missing?

Oh - Glad to help volunteer but I see GA has been updated. Let me know what I can do.

Is this thread dead?

Hey Guys, I downloaded this file several years ago and found it to be a great help in my travels as a disc golfer... came back today to see if there are any updates, as I know of several courses that have gone in that are not in the file... From what I can see the file has not been updated since 2007... is that correct? Is anyone still working on this project? Just curious, it would be a shame to lose such a useful tool.

Michigan Disc Golf Courses

The thread may have slowed down but I did just upload all of the Michigan Disc Golf Courses with a new format. I listed the city and number of holes for each course. The coords go to the parking lots of the courses as much as I can tell. Seasonal courses also have that note.

Since I don't play out of the state much anymore I really have no ambition to do the remainder of the states but might help if someone needs it.

That is good-
