HELP.....Connection port on RV760.... HELP

OK..... this will go down as one of the dumbest questions on the forum! Which port do you connect to on the RV760 to connect to computer.....the one on the back, that connects to power, or the one on the bottom next to the SD card slot?

When I try to hook up via the port on the back of the unit I get the message "Unit will not charge with this cable, use the one that came with your unit" The port on the bottom edge is smaller and I either lost the cable or am trying to do it wrong!

Smaller plug - Micro USB

Unless you have an iPhone, try using the cable that came with your phone (preferably smartphone if you have one). Otherwise, you can go into just about any convenience store, Walmart, Best Buy, etc and pick up one that should do the job. Just make sure it has the USB port on one end to plug into the computer.

You want the MicroUSB cable NOT miniUSB.

Mount?

When you refer to the connection on the back, are you referring to a socket on the removable mount or to a socket seen only after the removable mount has been removed? Most likely, you want to remove the mount to find and use the USB socket for use with a computer connection.

I did try looking at the owners manual but the description wasn't helpful, no images helped, and from a quick check, even YouTube didn't help. Page 1 of the owners manual shows the connection between the GPS proper and the powered mount; i.e., #1 and #2 of the images on page 1. It looks from the picture that there is a USB socket below the device's contacts and this socket (only seen after disconnecting the powered mount) is where I'd try to connect the cable for use with a computer:

Good luck.
