I’m grateful that Ian Grillot, a bystander, chose to intervene. My hope is people around the world will see his selfless act as representative of how many Americans would respond.
Our hearts go out to the family of Srinivas Kuchibhotla, to his co-workers at Garmin and to the community around Olathe. Our thoughts are also with Alok Madasani and Ian Grillot and their families as they continue to recover from the injuries they received during the attack.
Ian Grillot’s actions remind me of the Mr. Roger’s quote:
“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”
Jonathan and I are deeply saddened by the senseless attack the occurred recently in Olathe, Kansas.
