Garmin Releasing New Products at CES 2017

Yes, I was wondering when and how Garmin would use what they bought from DeLorme ... now we know. I suspect the rest of the DeLorme product suite is pretty much dead.

The In Reach is certainly useful for people who explore or sport in extreme locations with no other means of communication for emergencies. However, because of the high cost and restrictive nature of messaging through satellites, I think there is a very narrow market niche for this type of device.
