Since the proper 3597 power traffic cable and mount will come with the new device, I suspect that you are asking because you have the 1450 cable buried away in your vehicle and can't get at it to remove it easily.

The mount will not work. I doubt the power cable will either but I can't say for sure.

Also even if the old power cable does work it will not be an HD traffic receiver so you've turned your 3597LMTHD into a 3597LMT.

The power / traffic cable that came with your 1450 will not work with the 3597. Although the cables use the same USB mini connector, you will get a "incompatible cable" message if you use the GTM26 or GTM35 cable with the 3597. The supplied GTM60 receiver cable is necessary to receive HD traffic signals.

The 3597 does use the Garmin "G" ball mount system and it's magnetic base will snap onto an existing "G" ball suction cup or bean bag mount. Note however that the 3597 ships with a new "G" ball suction cup mount.

I have had my 3597 for a few months now and has had some issues in the beginning.

First thing I did was Backed it up (of course)
Then I started the update using Express. All looked like it worked great, Looked at the maps and saw only 1 map listed (Thought it was ok) I then added some Custom POI files.

Took it for a spin but some of the Notices Like school and Traffic did not get prompted.

So I did a reboot on the system then did another update with more stuff came down (don't remember what) This time I found 2 Maps the normal one and a 3d map. Add the Custom poi files again and took it for a spin again..

This time After about 5 min or so, the map disappears but the driving lines and directions stay, it is just a gray map, and then after a few min it says cannot load then the gps reboots.. this go's on the full time I am driving.

I reset the GPS 1 more time, attach it again to express, this time a 3rd map now's shows up. I Wish I had it in front of me but after searching for what it was for, I believe the 1st map is the usa map, the 2nd one is for 3d mapping, and the 3rd one is for elevation and such. I load the custom poi again.

Now after a few days, I find EVERYTHING is working even better than before.. I am getting School notice, traffic, etc..

Not sure what happened but would love to know if anyone else had this issue too?!!?

I have had no issues with my 3597 refurb other that losing voice recognition once after a map update. Reinstalling the English language support with Express fixed that. Otherwise, it has been pretty much flawless. I have had it for 3 years now.

I bought a 3597 two months ago for my daughter and updated it right out of the box. It required two separate sessions with GE. Not three like you did.

I have a 3597 also and when i plug in the GTM60 cable it indicates not compatible so I try a GTM35 and traffic works,any thoughts?

In the NA market, didn't all 3597's come with the GTM-60 cable as 3597 LMTHD? I don't recall seeing a 3597 LMT model. I suspect your GTM-60 is defective, but after Preroll's post from CES 2017, I probably wouldn't invest in a new one.
