2 questions regarding Garmin 3597

1- Can we delete or change the order of all the icons when we press Apps Icon on the main screen (Help File, Smartphone Link, Ecoroute,Trip Planner, Where I,ve been etc)
2- When you get a traffic report and it says that there's an accident 30 miles away and gives you an alterate route if ever the accident is cleared up a short time later will the unit tell you to go back on your original route or it's to late because you already took the option of the alternate route.
2 comments regarding the traffic apparatus that came with the 3597
Yesterday October 19th somewhere in the state of Pennsylvania on Interstate 81 something major happened because they blocked off all North bound AND South bound traffic. The jam it caused was unreal, miles and miles and miles of traffic. On the bright side I had time to fiddle with my Garmin and wondered why it hadn't warned me ahead of time of this accident but when I looked at the traffic provider all it was doing was searching, let's just say I wasn't at all impressed !
I understand I didn't pay any $ extras $ for traffic reports but something as big as this I would have thought it would have been reported even though it didn't happen in a major city.
Today in the West Palm Beach area it's reporting an accident with a certain amount of delay and suggests to me an alternate route. With what happened yesterday I decide to take the alternate route.
10 minutes later I cancel the alternate route and the unit reports back with the same accident but this time it says less than 5 minutes delay. A few minutes later it says that it's smooth sailing there isn't a delay any longer.
If I would have kept going on the alternate route would I have been advised that the accident was cleared and that I can resume on my original route.
Other than the traffic issues the unit performed flawlessly and I got to destination safe and sound 
I-81 is in the wilds of Pennsylvania
Most of I-81 in Pennsylvania is in an uninhabited, mountainous area, or a hilly rural area. No traffic provider covers this area.
Not only that, if you get caught in a stopped traffic jam there are no alternate routes, except two-lane roads in farm country, which in no way can handle all the traffic from the interstate.
Only if you are near Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, or Harrisburg is there a chance traffic is active. For traffic info away from populated areas, the solution is a cellphone-based app that depends on the progress of other subscribers.
Once you have warning of a problem up ahead, there is likely nothing you could do in this area except make a U-turn, and I have made a U-turn on one occasion after the traffic stopped completely. Another time, we took a detour and spent hours on side roads. They don't go where you want. They are lined up in valleys with hills in between.
I don't know of any regional alternative to I-81. Thankfully, this does not happen often.

Bumper to bumper on a two lane farm road EXACTLY as you describe.
When I got back on the intersate I saw that it was backed up on the other side more than 7 miles & saw a lady walking her dogs on the median.....

I think, once you are on an alternate route, the unit does not look at the original route anymore. It only looks at the current route it has plotted for you. One track mind.
At least, this has been my experience.

It's too bad you got caught in that horrific tractor trailer accident & fire in Cumberland County that closed I-81 for several hours. As Dobs108 pointed out, most of I-81 traverses rural territory where there is no FM based HD traffic reporting available.
I travel I-81 frequently and like many other POI Factory members, have given up on Garmin's GTM60 HD traffic receiver. If you have a smartphone, Garmin's Smartphone Link app is a much more reliable traffic reporter. There is a one time fee involved but well worth it IMO.
It's been my experience that once rerouted, neither HD traffic nor Smartphone Link will put you back on the original route if traffic clears.
Unfortunately, I see no way to adjust the order of the app icons on a 3597. I would like to have my favorites on the first page instead of having to scroll down.

If you are adventurous, try removing some of the first page icons you don't want there. Others will fill in and move up. Then try adding those Icons back and see where they go.

Where would I find those icons? and the names of them?

Go to the Where To screen
Go to the Where To screen and touch the ADD Shortcut Icon. Don't remove that one.

Ordering icons
I'm not sure he's talking about changing icons on the Where to screen, they can be moved/added etc. He's referring to the Apps screen, which unfortunately doesn't work the same way. You can't even delete icons which is annoying as apps like babycam I'd love to delete
