Detour Option

On my old 2460 I could tell it there was a detour and it would plot a new route around it. I use to use it often when I just didn't want to use the suggested road it wanted me to turn on. I can't find that option on our two current Garmins a 2689 and 2589. Did they remove this feature or am I just not finding it?

It's there

When navigating tap the 3bar icon bottom right, you should see the detour option there.

If it doesn't show go to Settings, Map and Vehicle, Map Tools and ensure its checked.

Your device has the Prompted or Advanced Detour option. See https://goo.gl/jgM3Ba for information on the detour option and settings .

Thanks

Not sure why I didn't see detour hiding there. Tried it last night and it worked as in the past. Thought that was to handy and option to remove.

Thanks

Jim...

Detour Works for Me

I have a 2460 and 3580 and they both support Detours. Great feature.

Works on my 2797 GPS the same way too, took a bit of looking for it.
My old 855 is much easier to get the detour.

Yep

Yea, I don't know why I was having problem finding it again. I used it a lot on trips to get alternate routes when I didn't like what the garmin picked. It also saved me a few times with real detours.

Detour Option

Does anyone know if the RV760 has the Detour function? This would have been helpful on a couple of trips.....gave up on the Garmin and used my iphone to navigate around the problem.

I think it only gives you

I think it only gives you detour options when the Traffic section offers alternatives to blocked roads. However, it's raining, then unit is in my truck and I'm ready for bed and i'm not goin gout to get it to check. I'll look in the morning.

Detour

Should be available whether traffic is working or not.

The RV 760 manual is here.

The RV 760 manual is here. http://static.garmin.com/pumac/RV_760_OM_EN.pdf I strongly suggest you download it, it's the only place to find things like this.
