I made Google Earth

I just happened to look at my house on Google Earth yesterday, and lo and behold, there I am in the picture. See

41.691762,-81.351418

That white blob is me mowing the lawn. And I know that because when I mow, I move a decorative park bench out of the way by placing it in the middle of the drive - which is what caught my eye.
I'm not sure, but that might be the only time I've actually seen a human being in Google Earth.

Wow..

Let me check to see if I see myself.

It's been replaced now but a couple of years ago our son was pictured cleaning out the eves on his house in southern Ontario, Canada. grin

I saw the Google camera car

I saw the Google camera car drive by my previous house a few years ago while I was mowing. I wondered if they got me on cam. It took a couple of years for them to update the street view images, but sure enough, there I was pushing my lawn mower across the drive.

Edit: I just looked and the image is still there! Go to Google Maps at 42.027879, -91.580158, put the street view man at that spot looking southwest across the street smile

I've checked several times...

...at various locations, (my home, work-place, etc.), but I've never made the big time. Just my luck! sad

My wife, daughter in law and grandkids

are in the Google Earth pix of our son's house for the past couple of years. Don't know how often the pictures recycle.

I once called a friend in Louisiana (I live in Illinois) and asked him how he like his new white car ... his garage door was open in Google Earth.

Street View

The Google car drove by my house on trash pick-up day, so the street view has a nice photo of my house with a trash barrel and 2 recycle bins.

Is Google Fond of Trash?

A couple of years ago they got a shot of my wife taking the trash barrel out to the curb.

Perfect timing! smile

They Got Me

They got me from the back working in my garage at the workbench. redface
Luckily they have "blurred" me out to the point that you just see my legs from the knee down. grin

Give 'em Credit

I find it funny as to what Google blurs out in Street View. They seem to do a good job with people, but it's hit and miss with signage and storefronts.

It must take a lot of effort to scrub those views!

Face and License Plate Blurring

Is done by an algorithm.

https://maps.google.com/maps/about/behind-the-scenes/streetv...

"We have developed cutting-edge face and license plate blurring technology that is applied to all Street View images. This means that if one of our images contains an identifiable face (for example that of a passer-by on the sidewalk) or an identifiable license plate, our technology will automatically blur it out, meaning that the individual or the vehicle cannot be identified. If our algorithms missed something, you can easily let us know."

NICE!!!!

NICE!!!!

i remember a coworker

said my car is there if you googled our workplace. Funny, it also showed how I curb my wheels. I thought that was taught when you learned to drive, but I see many on steep inclines with wheels straight ahead.

It's still there. Why do they blur out license plates?

Wow ...

And there you are. It's kind of interesting to see where some of my brother Factoryites live.

Google Image.

That was my previous address. I lived there for 17 years, but moved several months ago. I do miss the screened porch and farm scene I had in my back yard, but because of development, that won't be there much longer.

I've waved at the GSV car and it's funny to see the photo later.

Just checked...

using Google Earth Pro and the picture og my place has my brothers' car in the driveway (covered over). He left it from Sept-Nov 2015 so it's a fairly new photo. But I never did see the Google car (Ottawa, Ont)

If at first you don't succeed....redefine success

You can see past StreetView images

In Google maps, go into StreetView (drag the little guy over a blue road). In the upper left, look for the date in the black box. Click on it and you can "go back in time" to previous StreetView images of that same spot. If they exist, of course.

Google Earth has a similar feature for historical aerial views. May have it for its StreetView images too.
