Sounds not playing on alerts with same filename as csv

Greetings from I75 north of Atlanta

I am not getting the POI to alert now for some reason but it was before just didn't play the sound file I created. I added specs to the file name and gave it a distance using manual in the POI loader. Did I do something wrong?

I like being able to post going down the road. Thanks Garmin!

What do you mean by this statement?

Did you change the filename? The name of the POI file and the name of the BMP file need to be EXACTLY the same other than the file extension.

Greetings from I 24 near Nashville TN!

I added the SPECS to all three file names IE: CSV, BMP, and MP3. All three have exactly the same name with just the extension as appropriate! But All I get is the standard ding with the alert when I get one!

Ok, I get it now.

Well, I guess I would have left out the changing the filename part if I was going to add an alert distance manually.

Hmmm, I'm guessing that you've checked to be sure that you've also observed the same case (upper vs. lower) in the filenames. And that the files are all in the same folder on your PC when you load them with POI Loader.

So the next question is are the alerts set to sound on your unit?

Are you actually on a road heading toward the POI location?

Is the POI location sufficiently close to the road to be within the alert distance?

read the manual

You will not be able to play mp3 files, your unit will only ding. Some have been able to use wav files to play on some units.

Converted MP3 to wav with Audacity !
