Problem converting Streets and Trips generated .gpx to .csv

When converting a .gpx file that is generated by Streets and Trips 2013 to a .csv file, EPE does not pick up any route points that are not pushpins (waypoints). Route points created by altering a route by click-and-drag or by adding to a route a POI that is native to Streets and Trips don't appear when EPE opens the .gpx. And, of course then, they are not in the saved .csv file. Opening the .gpx file with Notepad shows both pushpin points (wpt~waypoints) and other route points (rtept) are in the file.
Is this a problem with EPE or Streets and Trips? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Won't do it

When EPE was created the intent was to follow the Garmin Schema or naming conventions used for automotive routing in the language to read and write it's GPX files. Part of the naming convention is pretty universal and other parts are proprietary to whoever extends the code convention. Evidently route points or rtept entries are unique to S&T. It's a known issue along with the inability to convert all the points used in Garmin's BaseCamp software.

As TurboCCC who authored the program is no longer active on the forums, there is little chance his software could be modified to accept the additional tags.

The program still remains much as it was originally intended, a means to convert CSV files to GPX, its original purpose. EPE along with S&T are pretty much dead programs as far as further development and face no future enhancements.

EPE editor

I believe the program is still being updated, maybe not as frequently though.

Thanks for the background info. Sounds like I need to find another way. Thanks.

I'm using V5.97.

Use MapSource or BaseCamp

S&T has a bug where the date XML is not properly formed.

Change:
time>Invalid DateTime-06:00 (time will vary)

to:
time>2015-05-13T08:10:11

Edit the gpx, change all those time expressions and you can open the resulting gpx file in MS or BC.

I don't know why you'd want a csv from that, as the routes can only be imported into a Garmin as a gpx. Personally, I prefer gpx for my POIs too, as I can use the fields to structure all the data so phone numbers can be dialed, etc. from the POIs. csv's are too disorganized for me.

I need a .csv because my Rand McNally GPS doesn't import .gpx files. If the workaround gets too cumbersome, I'll look into MapSource and BaseCamp.
Thanks for the reply.

Can you create

Thanks for the reply.

Can you create a route using RM's Dock software? I don't have one of the RM units but I know they have their own set of programs for managing data on their units so I was wondering if they have a routing function like BaseCamp.

If the RM units don't have trip planning software, I would count that as a serious deficiency.
