I believe you'll find your answer on page 165 & 166 in the owner's manual.

The dealer tells us which button will start her and we ride. You can test the other buttons along the way.

Pretty much how it works, too.

Also, one would not think it takes 244 pages to explain how the radio works. How times have changed.

Actually, I saw that section before. The suggested pages listed explain how to load addresses in the "Saved" section, not POI files.

Update it

There are firmware updates to the Infotainment system. See the H-D website or your dealer. I've also heard that the joystick can cause the unit to crash. Use the touch screen instead.

POI files possibly need to be gpx files.

The current version is 1.19.1 and has been out for a while. I have never had the system crash. I use the joysticks all the time, it is hard to use the touchscreen when on the road. I have found 2 other issues with the system but neither is major. I will probably write them up next time I take my bike in.

The GPX files are loaded as trips or saved addresses, not POI files. With the GPX, there are no categories like you have with a POI file.

Be Careful

Be Careful loading addresses. I noticed when bringing addresses from my phone that the HD system is much pickier than Google. You could end up with an address that is unusable and cannot be edited or deleted. To remove them you might need to do a Privacy reset.

I haven't played with the GPX format much but it is just another flavor of XML that can be edited if needed.
