Got my Mini Cooper Back!
ANd it only cost me $1700! Water pump and the plastic atrocity that's on the water pump, and a bunch of other maintenance items since things were torn apart -- new plugs, filters, drive belt, oil change.
To get to the water pump etc you have to take the front end of the car apart, pull the right front wheel, and partially disassemble the air intake. It would almost be quicker to go through from the front passenger seat with a sawzall.
But I have my car back and it's zippy again.
Spent the week driving a loaner BMW 528e (1987 vintage with about 280k miles on it). Handles well, but... It's almost twice the weight of the Mini. Another small point, the 528e engine produces around 130 HP, where the Mini does 200 HP... The ride in the 528e is much smoother than the Mini (with its sports suspension).

Nice fall colors
Took a daytrip into the NH Lakes Region yesterday. Nice fall colors out there. Seeing some snow on the higher peaks in the distance. Not ready for what's to come shortly!
