GE 4.1.6.0 is out

Garmin Express v4.1.6.0 for the PC. This version includes the following changes:

• Fixed an issue that would prevent subsequent golf updates to complete successfully.
• Fixed an issue that caused a transatlantic map update to result in a missing 3D map file.

The big visible change I see is that the Settings have been broken into four sections rather the the previous single page. It looks nice but takes a few extra seconds to go through all the settings.

Jgermann, where do you find the changelog? I've tried a few times in the past and Google doesn't show me a link to a version history page.

The GE software is designed to support many of Garmin's devices not just their automotive GPS units. They have a few golf watches with golf course mapping on them so this update would appear to fix an issue with updating the golf course layout. See:

Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v4.1.6.0 for the Mac today. If you would like to upgrade to the latest version, Check for Application Updates by clicking “About Garmin Express” from the Garmin Express menu bar, and then click “Check for Updates to Express”. This version includes the following changes:

• Fixed an issue that would result in the previous region remaining on the device after a user opted to change regions.
• Fixed an issue where the Map Options button was not displayed on initial load of the dashboard.

CraigW, the change log for Garmin Express is only published on the Garmin Software forums in a couple of "sticky" threads. Why they don't include the changelog as part the Garmin Express update process is another one of Garmin's mysteries.

Updated GE to 4.1.6.0 on MAC OS X 10.10.5 - all good so far

Updates Windows 7 x64 no issues.

On the Windows version, 4.1.6.0 changed the user interface for the "gear" functions. It still has the same options, but rather than show all the options on one screen, they changed it so it is more of a menu in a separate pane.

I still had an older version (4.0.24); it updated in two steps, the first one to 4.1.5, and the second to 4.1.6.0

Maybe your Mac does everything twice - one update in 2 steps and one post appearing twice.

From here I was able to find the links to the Mac software discussions and found some answers to some questions that had been lurking in my head that are Mac related matters.
