660 and MapInstall to SD card

So, today I thought I would update my old 660 to the 2016.10 map.
Garmin Express installed the Lower 49 just fine.
Started MapInstall, it defaulted to the "H:" drive, which is my SD card (was empty, except for the Garmin folder) and selected what parts of the maps to install (Canada).
Install occurred with no error messages.
Unplugged the 660 and it starts to re-boot as usual. Starts loading maps and I get the message "Can't unlock maps". Lower 49 was there, but supplemental map was not listed.
I've reinstalled MapInstall with the latest version (which I think I already had). Copied some of the suspect unlocking files to the card to no avail.
MapInstall only puts 2 file on the card:
gmapsupp.img
f1f6c161-7d20-4b24-9cf4-09ef92980c9d.gma
Note: The .gma file dos not match the one in the 660 internal memory.
Am going to "Trick" MapInstall into thinking I have the older map & use MapInstall to install both maps.
Anybody else have this problem, or know the fix?
Edit:
Did a re-install of the main map using GE.
Then I used MapInstall to install supplemental maps again.
All is well now. This time it installed 3 files to the SD card. 2 .gma files and a gmapsupp.img file.
Possible Solution
You can try renaming the f1f6c161-7d20-4b24-9cf4-09ef92980c9d.gma to gmapsupp.gma to match the map (Canada).
Strange that the SD card does not have a gmapprom.unl file on the SD card. I don't think by copying the gmapprom.unl code from the 660 to the SD card will help since that is the unlock code for the Lower 49.
You may also try downloading the Canada map again to the SD card only this time use MapUpdater instead of Garmin Express, you can get it here if you don't already have it.

Choose Save file so you can use it whenever you need it.

Are you eligible to receive the complete 2016.10 map?
Best of my knowledge only people in the USA may get a lower 49 GPS, the Canadian versions have all of NA maps including Mexico.
That is of course if not bought in the USA. Friends had to return a wonky Garmin to Costco in the USA for an exchange and that is what they got, lower 49 only.
If so why bother going through all the rigamarole. Just load all of it to a SD card.

If he is eligible for the the complete 2016.10 map it will do him no good to put it on an SD card since the 660 can only read 1 map that is under 2GB, the complete map exceeds that limitation. That is why the map must be split up into two segments

Yes, stung by the 2Gb memory limitation. It has to have the main map in the unit and the supplemental map on the SD card.
Also, My map is North America including Canada & part of Central America + some Caribbean Islands.
It's a 660LMT NA.
FYI - This worked just fine with 2015.40
