I keep checking there also for the Lollipop update for my note 8
Still showing TBA for my Samsung Note 8.0 that is currently running Android 4.4.2
I'm running Android 5.0.1 on my Samsung S4 and really like all the new features and graphics.

Forced update on my Galaxy S4 over a month ago. Been having battery issues since the update.

Service Provider's
Often the update comes from the service provider, such as T-Mobile, Verizon, etc. So the dates vary.

The link above only shows Korea for update. Looking under settings ,general,about device then software update was I able to get it for the USA..

I haven't had any excessive battery drain on my 3 Nexus devices on 5.1.1 at all.
It'll take a few charge cycles for the update to stabilize the battery use, though.

When I fist got the phone the battery was draining overnight, just sitting on the table. I Googled the problem, found it was a common problem and found some things to turn off, and no longer have that drastic drain.

new to me
a new to me Galaxy S4 has lollipop. I want to keep my unlimited 4G and didn't want to spend over $200, so I got a new never activated Verizon S4 in the box (it was legit, the first one I got was an Asurion refurb).
About 2 days into it (June 26 or so) it updated to lollipop. Not sure if there's any specific feature that someone is looking for, but it doesn't appear to be anything great. Keep in mind my phone although brand new in the box, is 2 generations old. I've done 15 gb (I've seen some do 58, 103, etc.) in a month, so no plan is gonna cut that, i.e. the new 2 gen old phone.

(my device was new out of the box last month, so the battery is new FYI / had all the verizon docs that would have come with it 2 yrs. ago)
Android 5.x battery drain
The battery problem is a bug in Google's java code in the framework. There are fixes available, but all involve rooting. In my case, problem solved by installing a custom ROM ported from a Galaxy S6 running Android 5.1.1.

I have an S4
And I haven't had a problem with battery drain after the first week. The last 2 updates had the same issue but it was just a matter of going through a couple battery cycles so the power management system can learn the phone again.

My Samsung S4 got the android 5.0.1 update back in the first week in May and I haven't had any battery problems.
