Since this is my first Garmin (VIA Nuvi 66) I'm having a difficult time with the different functions, I have figured most of them out but right now I cannot figure out how to enter different categories(custom categories/POI,s) to my routes. I have a number of these categories on my Micro SD card that I use often)Thanks for any step by step help.

Category is a word that can be associated with 1) Saved Places/Favorites, or 2) Custom POIs. Which are you asking about?
Exactly what kind of file(s) associates with "categories" are on the SD card?

How can I create routes using Custom POIs on automotive devices with Trip Planner?
To create a custom route with a Custom POI on a Camper/RV 660, 760, dezl 560, 570, 760, 770, nuvi 55, 56, 57, 58, 65, 66, 67, 68, 2405, 2407, 2408, 2505, 2507, 2509, 2609, 2508, 2707, 2708, 2709, 3400, 3500, 3507, 3508 series, nuviCam, zumo 350, zumo 390, or zumo 590 series device:
Touch Apps
For dezl 560, Touch Where to? or Tools
Touch Trip Planner
Touch the menu button (three horizontal bars)
Skip this step on some devices
Touch New Trip, Create Trip, or the + button (add new route)
Touch Select Start Location
Touch Categories
Touch Custom POIs
Touch the desired Custom POI
Touch Select
Repeat steps 3-9 as necessary to create route
Touch Next
Enter a name for the route
Touch Done
The custom route has now been created.
Note.To have custom pois to select from they must be set up on your GPS using PoiLoader. For custom pois see http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 .
