No system file

Hi all
I hope someone can help me I have recently changed from pc to Mac and I have just downloaded latest Garmin map for my 3490LMT but although I know they are on the USB thumb drive I cannot see the system folder.
I have set my Mac to show hidden files but when I click go>go to folder>system it saying no file found.

missing dot.
The folder name has a leading period .system

Like many other MAC OS files the Garmin System file on the Nuvi is hidden. You can use the free utility TinkerTool (http://www.bresink.com/osx/TinkerTool.html) to show hidden and system files.

thanks for all the reply's but as others have said I forgot to put a full stop before system
.system so it shows my signature is correct old man but still learning
