@CarlfromOH ... If the list of GPS devices you show in your profile, "Magellan Meridian Color, Quest, Nuvi 200(wife's), StreetPilot(daughter)", is current, you will probably not be able to import routes from any source. However since your thread title contains "2589", if that refers to a Garmin nuvi 2589, then yes, you can transfer routes to it.
Edit: oops! I missed your note about the Quest. I didn't realize that device could import routes ... sorry!

Garmin reached the point where it no longer builds compatibility into its software for a lot of older models. Recent notations about the GPSMap models as posted by Diesel and others is further proof that when Garmin discontinues a model its software also looses support and may not be supported in current desktop offerings.
