3D Buildings File

I apologize if this is covered on here somewhere but I couldn't find it. I know that some of the Garmin models come with the 3D Buildings mode, but I was wondering if there is a file you can add to your Garmin if you don't have it? I have the 2597LMT which doesn't come with that. I noticed that the 3597 does. If there a way it can still be added or purchased if need be? I'd like to at least try it out and see if my Garmin can handle it OK and if I like it or not. Thanks for any info concerning this.

Not possible. Only certain models support it/can render it via their firmware. It's a Garmin pre-installed map file which is also copy protected as Garmin's maps are...they will only work on that specific unit.
To put it simply, if your unit came pre-installed with the 3D Buildings, you already have the file and access to it's use. It's not an add-on that you can purchase & install/use at a later time.
