Traffic Function on Garmin 2495 LMT

I noticed this weekend that I had no traffic alert functions. I was stuck in a mile long standstill traffic jam on Rte. 17 in NJ. and yet the Garmin said no traffic problems. So I open my Waze app. on my phone and it showed every traffic jam I was dealing with. So I when I got home home I upgraded the maps, cause the device alerted me to do it.
I don't know whether that will solve the problem. I didn't think I needed a special subscription for the traffic function. I have the device plugged into the lighter so that can't be the problem. And I remember that I had that same traffic dysfunction the last time I used the GPS
Anyone have any ideas ???

Garmin knows there's no traffic in New Jersey while anyone that has either lived in or traveled through th Hwy 17 corridor know different?
BYW, FWIW, I've had similar results using my 3597 so don't take it personally.

Camera functions
My 2495 works fine for the red light camera alerts. I don't know about the speed cameras.
Don't have too many in the NYC area, "YET".
I may call Garmin if I don't see any change in the traffic function. If it takes two devices to monitor what's going on, that OK.

Not working...
…on my 3490. I've even purchased the antenna and still don't get traffic. It used to work, but has gotten much worse. There isn't any transmitter near where I live, but even when I drive into DC still don't see traffic. I believe the radio stations aren't supporting the Garmin any more.

....any difference on my 3590.l I just got back from a trip out west and it alerted me to several traffic issues on my trip.

Traffic Function on Garmin 2495 LMT
I have encountered similar situations on I-95. A lot depends upon whether or not the jam is reported in a timely manner and how long the jam may last. Its certainly not an exact science, however, my unit is reporting traffic jams. Most times, the information is accurate.
I get them
My 3790 shows them in time, but then I live in a large city with good FM coverage.

Had similar issue
When I upgraded the device the issue seemed to resolve itself and the traffic alerts worked normally.
