Can't get POI State Parks-Florida to load

I downloaded the State Parks-Florida POI file from the site to my computer. I execute the POI Loader program and point to the CSV file on my laptop. When I select copy to my Nuvi 2557, it states "reading POI file" However, it never updates beyond 0% read. Any suggestions appreciated. Perhaps the Nuvi 2557 does not support POI.

Welcome to The Factory

Welcome!

Your nuvi does support custom POIs so let's see what we can figure out. Have you successfully loaded any other csv or gpx POI files from here? Have you updated your map or nuvi software with the laptop and USB cable so that we know the computer is communicating with the nuvi?

First, exactly which csv POI file did you download? I see only:

Florida state parks with lodging
State park entrances-Florida
Florida state park campgrounds

If there's a problem with the file causing it not to load, we'll need to know which one to look at.

When you say you point POI Loader to the csv file, do you mean you pointed POI Loader to the folder that holds the csv file? POI Loader needs to know what folder your POI file(s) will be in but doesn't need to know the files and filenames. And when you say you pointed POI Loader, do you mean you were answering the POI Loader question "Please select the folder where the data files can be found:"?

Can we confirm that you're using Windows XP Service Pack 3 or a newer Windows version—or that you're using a Mac and have met the Mac requirements for using POI Loader?

Lastly for the 1st set of questions, can we confirm that you have your nuvi 2557 attached to the laptop with a USB cable?

Here's a faq with several other instructional links including a link to a YouTube video that may be of help:

PS—the video link describes using a POI file that's a zip file, so you can ignore the unzipping instructions except for the tiny handful of zipped files here at POI Factory. Most POIs here are csv, gpx or some special Tom Tom file type (OV2?) and can be used directly by POI Loader once you've downloaded them to a folder on your laptop.

The file should work just fine on your unit. I have the FL state parks on my GPS. See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 for instructions .

I suspect that the problem is that

he/she pointed it to the file and not a folder.
