I noticed a lot of POI files for such things as Walmarts, Truck stops, etc. When loaded on my Garmin, how exactly do I locate a specific store, etc. Does it pop up anywhere or do I have to go into a file. Help would be appreciated. Thanks
Extras
On your nuvis (not sure about your 6410), tap the Where To tab, then look for the Extras tab and tap it. Then tap the Custom POIs and your loaded Custom POIs will be found. Tap the one you want (e.g., WalMart) and you will see the nearest 50 (as the raven flies) WalMarts. Tap one and you can select it as a destination.
On your nuvi 50LM, here's a video describing them (at about the 5-minute mark) showing that you may need to tap the "down arrow" to see Extras:

Note that you load these Custom POIs with Garmin's POI Loader software.
The Tutorials, Learn tab, and faqs will explain more. Let us know if you need more.

I had to smile when I read this. Wish I had used it in some of my past posts.
POI's
If you don't want a store near your current location, click the NEAR button at the bottom of the Garmin before you get to the poi folder and you can chose near your destination, your current route, or another location.
Wow, Great Answer - Thanks for your help!!
Craig W Thanks for your reply. I am using the 50LM so your answer was right down the alley.... Read a prior post submitted by dobs108 on Thu, 09/30/2010 which covered downloading POIs to my Garmin.
Both of your answers most helpful.... Thanks again

Indeed
The original quote is "as the crow flies"

I had to smile when I read this. Wish I had used it in some of my past posts.
And, I have used that phraseology myself many times on this site.
However, whenever "raven" was substituted for "crow", my mind went to the poem which has the line I quoted as the title to my post - "Tis the wind and nothing more".
Perhaps now you can determine the name of the poem.
My smile occurred because it, for an instant, made our site a bit more literary minded.

It may be a murder of crows, but it's an unkindness of ravens...or a sadness...or:
a conspiracy of ravens
a constable of ravens
a parliament of ravens

It is interesting how different peoples minds draws different pictures in response to the same words and phrases.
At first I thought it was odd to use raven instead of crow, then my mind went to the scene in Jeremiah Johnson where he looked up at a hawk flying over a high ridge and said “Goin' for the Musselshell. Take me a week's ridin', and he'll be there in... hell, he's there already”.
That scene has stuck in my mind ever since I first saw it in 1972.
When I lived in Western Montana in the 1990's I even camped and hiked along the Musselshell River because of that memory.
thanks
I never knew you could do that. Thanks.
