NUVI Temperature Cut-off

Left my NUVI 40 in the sun for a couple of hours the other day.
It did not seem to want to turn on, but after a minute, a message flashed across the screen that said it turned itself off due to temperature extremes. Then it came back perfectly.
Did not know it did that! Very Cool (

They can fry
My daughter left her old one out in the car in the hot summer sun here in TX and it was it. Not much the internal sensor can do about that, I guess.
Our 660 did that once...
Our 660 did that once... 100+ day attached to windshield cup.... We were stopped at rest area having lunch, and I left it on in turned off car.
I let it sit in shade for 10min, in Air Conditioning, and then it started and worked fine.
A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love...
Never take ours out of vehicle
We leave ours in the vehicle year round and have never had a temperature shut down, even with cabin temperatures around 140°F.

Its electronic
Electronic components do overheat and burn out.
