Touch screen not working

I have app. update 3.0.9.0 on my 1450. Software 6.20. I have been using Garmin Express for updates. All was good until now. I do have the 'extras' in GE. Tried out a drive this morning with voice activated. Had a hard time unselecting the mute button. Now I can't turn off the voice. When I input a "Where To' and a map is shown, I can't use the back button to make another selection. The "GO"button turns blue and the area around it slightly changes color. Pressed hard. The + plus sign also does not work to zoom in. I have a 1390 with updates (old map) and everything works OK. Could it be the update using GE? After the updates on both GPSs, something was shown to not have worked. Red letters. How do you know if it is my screen? Thanks

Things to try first

It certainly could be a hardware failure but I'd first suggest a couple things, especially if the problem cropped up right after you did some updates:

1) Do a hard reset of your 1450. Follow the faq and be sure to save your Favorites before starting:

Wow, it works

CraigW, From your suggestions, I thought I would try the easiest. I had already did a recalibrate screen the day before with my finger and turned unit on and off several times. This time I got a stylis and did the recalibrate. It worked! Could not have been a coincidence to just start working. Right? Had to be the stylis. Thanks

If none of the above works

If none of the above works then you have to open your gps and make sure digitizer screen is connected properly. Check for loose broken connection. you can find digitizer replacement on Ebay.
