Keeping the Windmill Alive - Your last trip? – December 2013

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Apex, NC

Spent Thanksgiving at my Son's Farm out side of Raleigh, NC - No heat and it was in the 20's. Plenty of space heaters. Drove up from Naples, FL. on the Weds before and got back December 1st. Used my Garmin 2557LMT.

only

traveled across town for Thanksgiving this year! Not expecting to be forced to fly again for the foreseeable future. Now that is something to give thanks for.

Florida

Traveled to Clearwater and Ft. Myers. Did have a problem finding a golf outlet store. Couldn't find it by name. When I entered the address it let me select it but then said it didn't exist. Know it exists been there several times when I'm in the Tampa area smile

Last night

On my way home from an evening class during a snow storm. There's a left turn that I make out of the class that's very difficult to see. I rely on the Garmin to tell me where the turn is.

Eye surgery time

112 mi. RT to Reno for the Doctor. GPS worked great going, coming back it wanted to take through me Virginia City. Worse weather day of the year. (for out here)so I got tired of it telling me make a u turn and shut it off. Gotta get better at that trip planer. Thought you could just reverse the route. Go again tomorrow.

Last Trip

NYC, Queens to be exact

crabbing

The big meaty Dungeness crab is in season. Got a few and cooked on the beach. Tasty.

MD

Took a Thanksgiving trip to MD. Coming back we were just blindly following the 2460 since we sort of new where we were going but all of a sudden we were on surface streets in Harrisburg, PA. Luckily not much traffic on Sunday morning and it wasn't a bad short cut but would not have wanted to do it in during a work day.

Thrift Shops

I had created a poi file for thrift shops in the region when I needed props for the Christmas play a few years ago.
