Thanks!

Thanks for the timely heads up!

I had a problem

For $19 I decided to update my 295w. MapUdater would not work. I called Garmin for help. She said that GE must be used. I mentioned that Updater worked fine last week. Eventually I decided to cancel the order.

I bought the lifetime update many many years ago for a StreetPilot 330c and I think it was around $70, the price in the OP is certainly a good deal.

Wow! I remember when lifetime hit $78 and I thought it was a good deal and bought it. Granted I have used it for three years now but these lower prices are crazy. I wonder how they are reconciling with their map data supplier. The Navteq deal was up for renewal.

Monday, Dec 2nd

Nüvi 3490LMT 169.99. Use coupon code Holiday13 for free shipping. Very good price. Unfortunately I don't need a new GPS.

Thanks for the info

Passing along to friends who I know are looking

only good if you have a high end unit

Well, I certainly wouldn't call this a great price if it was used on an older low end unit, and particularly not with the free OSM maps available for Garmin. Even if those maps were not available, I saw Garmin GPSs with life time maps available on Black Friday (plenty in stock, no waiting in a cold line all night long) for $10 more. For that price you not only get the lifetime map, but you get the hardware, a fresh battery, another windshield mount (we know how they often need replaced), a spare charger, and a warranty. Would have made me feel pretty foolish if I had bought "lifetime" maps for my 5 year old nuvi.

I thought the same thing when I saw the price for a new 3490

A good price but I think that my thought was "fortunately" I don't need a new GPS. Just saved yourself some bucks. wink

.

Good deal in deed, back when i bought life time updates for my 350 i paid $99. But I'm still fine with that because it's more then paid me back with all my map updates i've done.

Garmin nuvi 350 Lifetime Map Updates NT 2018.10

You mean there are people

You mean there are people who still buy gpsr's without LMT?..lol

Just breathed new life into my nuvi 500

I only went for the one time though. I have been able to navigate around the changed roads fine in the past 4 or 5 years since the maps were last updated. If the thing is still alive in 5 years, perhaps I'll buy another update. The new maps do draw faster though, than the old. I'll put it through it's paces later on in the week.

Looks like the big sales are over today

I told my son on cyber Monday about the brand new 3490LMT's being available yesterday for $169 with free shipping and he jumped on it to replace his 885T.

Always great prices...I'd

Always great prices...I'd rather buy a new unit with LMT than pay for a life time maps for an older unit.

...

Thank you for posting. If garmin made a new model with mp3, I would buy it, until then will update older units that are capable.

I I purchased the Nuvi

I I purchased the Nuvi 3490LMT from Amazon on Black Friday for $129.99 plus tax. I've used it one day so far and really like the interface. It's a big step up from my outdated Staples Omnipoint GPS.

I bought the Garmin 2595LMT

I bought the Garmin 2595LMT with HD traffic from Costco for $140. I was skeptical of the HD receiver at first for the extra money, but Orlando is listed as having the service. It is undoubtedly far superior to my previous traffic (3D version). I have been very impressed with guidance around jams and the amount of notice.
