GARMIN EXPRESS problems

Garmin Express hangs and causes problems when updating maps.It installs automatically to replace Garmin Updater. I called support after 6 hours and after disconnecting usb and reconnecting Express worked. Can't Garmin get it right?

The Solution

The solution to this is to not use Garmin Express, since Garmin can't get it right.

Web Updater

Express is really buggy. I stick to the Garmin Web Updater myself.

Except that you can't use WebUpdater to update MAPS. You can use WebUpdater to update just about everything else but for maps your best to use Garmin's MapUpdater software.

Ok, old news. So.... is it Garmin's software or your computer? There are many people here who do not have any issues with the program updating their units, I am one of them. Never have had. This is nothing new in the software world. Always gonna people that cannot use some software. The real issue is that you need an alternative to express.

Garmin express

Tried to add a nuvi 2495 I got at a garage sale, to my account, and it defaulted to insisting I load Express first. Previously I had removed it from my PC and only use updater. Not an issue since I don't update maps.

Anybody have this problem too? Anyway to bypass this b.s.?

Yea, Registration only works through Garmin Express now. I think they are trying to get away from registration because you don't have to register to get your map updates like you used to.

Why in the world would you not update maps if they are free for you? It's like saying "I prefer to watch the news from 2 years ago"

In case you didn't know, that 2495 should have free maps for life.

Over and over as been reported that using garmin express is just asking for trouble, and still people use it, why not reading first others people review before jumping on using this junk software.

I never Use it and have no intention too. the way I see it is like taking your family to go eat on a Restaurant when everyone else is telling you that the food is terrible..
