Keeping the Windmill Alive - Your last trip? – September 2013

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share with us the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you use it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Family Get-together

Had a visit with the family over the weekend. Traffic was not as bad as expected and weather was clear (though hot). A pleasant visit and travels.

Pine Creek Gorge

Just got back from a trip to Wellsboro PA to ride the Pine Creek Gorge bike trail. My Dezl 760 was flawless on the road but waypoints in my Montana 650T were off by almost 50 feet on the trail. I suspect it was due to the poor GPS reception in the deep Pine Creek Gorge. Had fun anyway.

Labor Day Trip

Took a final summer Labor Day getaway to the Chicago-Milwaukee area. The lighthouses POI came in handy, and the unexpected 110th Harley anniversary in Milwaukee added a surprise (noisy, but fun) atmosphere to that area.

Joliet, IL

Went to the speedway and drove a NASCAR. Reached 150 MPH on the banked track.

Rand McNalley RVND 7720

Traveling this week with the RV the GPS will announce turn left or turn right when I was traveling on some real curvey roads. Really becomes annoying. When I look down at the screen it is showing me the road with sharp turns. When traveling in a strange ares and you are relying on the GPS it becomes frustrating listing to that.
Also I have the GPS set to keep off narrow roads and guess what it sent me down one?
Anyway and great week.

Was on business trip in Connecticut.

Around town

I did put some kms this week and I am learning the ways of the new 2595. I have to see if I can enable the voice on the pois for red-light cams and police enforcement sites. It is no that I speed or run red-lights but helps keeping me alert for a cautious drive.

use it. But additionally

Me too, I spent a lot of money for the GPS so I might as well use it.

But additionally the 3790 also keeps track of fuel consumption when it is on and you enter the info at a fill-up!
