2014.20 uploaded on servers

I do not by any means wish to start a 20 page long thread about when the 2014.20 maps will be released, but for everyone's information, they have officially been posted on Garmin's servers as of 5 days ago. As we've seen in the past, this could mean that the maps will become available to us within 2 to 7 weeks. They are released when they are released.

I am sure it has a process

I am sure it has a process to go thru, and many times that can take awhile, especially if something kicks out and requires review.

You know.....

Even though I filled out the request form multiple times, I have never, ever, received an email from Garmin telling me there are new maps.......!

I rely on posts like this to determine:

A... It's 'Close'
B... It's 'Out'
C... It's 'Available'

We're still in "A" for what I can tell..

Email me when We're in "C", Ok???

Patiently waiting. The last

Patiently waiting. The last update messed up the routing of a roundabout near my house(I think).

I tend to only update it right before longer trips and I couldn't believe the route it was trying to make me take from my house onto the highway recently.

Does anyone EVER get a notice by e-mail after they sign up? ...

If not, I wonder why do they bother with that option?

For the same reason Garmin has a PATHETIC PRODUCT called 'Garmin Express' and they can't get roads/streets built YEARS AGO to accurately show on their maps.

Gotta love Garmin & it's

Gotta love Garmin & it's processes.

Love Garmin

Yep, they put it up and let it sit. Why not just not put it up until it's ready for distribution. Once they put it up, I know they are not changing the maps so why not release it.

Nice

Thank you...

I have

pb46:

Don't install a map release and eventually you will get an email. I think they are afraid of the server being swamped, so they wait awhile to send out email notifications. BTW, I have gotten notices about 3-4 weeks after the release.

koot

Don't blame Garmin for the map being so far out of date - blame NavTeq, as they supply the maps to Garmin.

Thanks metricman, your reply is appreciated. I think I'll try that for the next update.

Here--Really?

I almost never apply an update and can only remember one email from Garmin years ago reminding me my 780 was getting out-of-date for maps.

As far as I can tell they never send out notices.

So this thread won't make it to page 20. laugh out loud laugh out loud

Without reading most of this post

it is difficult to know if I should hook up my garmin and see if the new maps is available. Hopefully another post will be started and clearly let us know.
