How do I change the voice on a Nuvi, Live, Dezl or Zumo?

Suggestion: for the GPS models that speak street names, be sure to select only voices with "(TTS)" or that say "Speaks Street Names." (thanks to CraigW for this suggestion)

Garmin devices support a wide array of voice languages. To change the voice language follow the instructions for your specific device below. If, during the steps outlined, you do not see the desired language, download and install the free WebUpdater: http://www.garmin.com/webupdater

The WebUpdater will update your device's operating software. You'll also be presented with a list of additional updates which includes all voice languages that are compatible and available for your device.

To change the voice language on nuvi 200, 205, 400, 500, 700, 705, 800, 805, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1690, 5000, 2200, 2300, 2400, 3700 series, LIVE 1695, LIVE 2300 series, dezl 560, or zumo 600, 665, and 220 devices:

Touch Tools
Touch Settings
Touch Language
Touch Voice1
Some devices will call this Voice Personality or Voice Language
Touch the desired voice language
Touch Ok
The device will now speak the selected language.

To change the voice language on nuvi 30, 40, 50, 300, and 600 series or zumo 400 and 500 series devices:

Touch Locale or Language
Touch Voice or Voice Language
Touch the desired language
Touch Ok
The device will now speak the selected language.

To change the voice language on nuvi 2405, 2407, 2408, 2505, 2507, 2508, 2707, 2708, 3400, 3500, 3507, and 3508 series devices, zumo 350 and the dezl 760:

Touch Settings
Touch Language & Keyboard
Touch Voice Language
Touch the desired language
Touch Save
The device will now speak the selected language.

To change the voice language on a nuvi 295W:

Touch Settings on the scrolling bar

Touch Language
Touch Voice
Touch the desired language

The device will now speak the selected language.
