Nuvi 2595LM Not Calculating a Complete Route from 6 POIs over 1,900 Miles

I have a fairly new Nuvi 2595LM with less than 12 waypoints starting in the northwest and ending in Oklahoma City. The unit cannot finish calculating the route, it gets to 67% and times out with a message that says that I must drive part of the route and it will then be able to finish. Now this seems completely bogus to me and what good is the thing if you can not even plan a 5 or 6 day trip and show the whole route that you want to travel and what he unit thinks is the best route based on your entered waypoints.

All advice and experience is very welcome or any discussion on how to remedy this problem. I am to leave on this trip by next Saturday so must solve this quickly.

1900 mile trip

You are asking a lot of a processor. If it were my trip I would use google maps and get the big picture then break it into smaller sections for the GPS. Google Maps has a lot flexibility for planning trips. I always want a big picture of any trip, then ensure the GPS is doing what I expect.

Just a suggestion

In your situation you could plot the route in Mapsource to look at the big picture. Then do as 2595 suggests and create several one day routes.
..My 1450 has no trouble calculating and displaying an 1800 mile trip with 6 via points.
Good luck on your trip. Stay safe.

Thanks to everyone for their

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice. I have already plotted the outbound and return trips in Basecamp and do have the big pictures, but was disappointed when the 2575 couldn't calculate the whole route. it will get the job done I am sure. This is my first long trip with waypoints so I am still finding my way with this GPS.

Thanks again. RGB
