3490 Mount No Volume

Hi. Has anyone experience a problem with the speaker on the car mount for the 3490 ?
Mine car mount speaker stopped putting out any sound. I tried checking the volume settings, mounting and unmounting the unit, plugging and unplugging the power cord and shutting down and restarting the unit many times.
The GPS unit DOES have volume and makes sounds when I remove it from the mount.
After trying all of the above things about 4 times, it started working again and has been fine for several days.
But I don't know if it was a speaker problem, cable problem or connections problem.
So I was wondering if it was an unusual thing to happen or if others have had the same problem?

Nothing Through Mount Speaker
I have same problem with 3760LMT. Garmin had me try new mount and then new cable. Neither worked. It is a problem in the 3760.

My unit keeps going silent off and on while in the car mount.
I thought I had it fixed by unplugging and re-pluggung the power cord from the mount, btu I was wrong.
I guess I have to give Garmin a call.

Well I just got off the phone with Garmin support and they said to try to return the entire unit to the store.
I explained that everything else is working fine and perhaps he would want to send out just the power speaker mount, but he was adament that I return the entire unit.
That just doesn't sound like smart business. Now I won't have a unit until I send thisw back.. geta refund.. and purchase another unit.
If all it needed was a new mount, which seems pretty inexpensive, it would make so much sense to just replace that piece.
Garmin gets more strange all the time.
