Frustrated - need a Kenwood Expert

I joined the POI factory and downloaded the Garmin POI loader and added the sox.exe file in the same folder that the poi.exe is located.
I downloaded both the red light and speed camera files and I was able to load those POI's into my Kenwood DNX6990HD but no matter what I do I cannot load the audio files that issue a warning in a voice to work. I have named them exactly as directed. I matched the names of the 2 database files. Redlight-Cameras.mp3 or .wav and the same with the Speed-Cameras.mp3 or .wav, I tried both .mp3 and .wav neither works. I did not use them both at the same time.

I put them in the same folder with the database files then run the POI loader, it created the file on the USB flash drive but when I drive past a camera all I get is a beep, no voice. Can you help?

are you certain

Are you certain the Kenwood supports audio files? Not all units have that capability.

Illiterate? Write for free help.

I used the wav files in the Kenwood unit I had.............

I used the wav files in the Kenwood unit I had in the last car and they worked fine and announced both the red light and speed camera voice warnings.

I put the wav files in the same directory folder as the camera files making sure that they had identical naming before the dot in the file name like the following:

Redlight-Cameras.csv
Redlight-Cameras.wav
Speed-Cameras.csv
Speed-Cameras.wav

(Make sure that the wav files meet all the required format type settings)

Placed the correct 14.0.1 version of sox.exe file in the same directory as the poi loader program is located. Ran POI loader and selected the directory with the data and wav sound files and saved them to the SD card. Put the SD card into the Kenwood unit and selected the save to unit when it popped up. Did it many times over a couple of years and worked fine every time.

I did everything exactly as

I did everything exactly as you stated it and no voice warnings. I must have tried it 20 times, I'm defeated, I give up. I'll live with beep beep.

Subtle Errors Can Be Overlooked

I have had similar problems in the past and have discovered that the cause was a subtle typo in one of the names.

On one occasion, the error was that I had typed a "0" (zero) instead of an "O" (Oh). (Or perhaps the other way around - I don't remember for sure.) I did not spot that until about the tenth time I was comparing the names of the different files.

On another occasion, the error was that I had a Capital letter in one file name and a lower-case letter at the same place in the other. I looked right past that difference several times before it registered in my mind.

With best wishes,

Tom, not the case, names are

Tom, not the case, names are exactly the same. It just wont work. I changed the wav file to be mono and when I do that I get nothing. The POI's load but I could drive by cameras all day long, no beep, no voice. I deleted the wav file and just loaded the excel files and it works fine. I guess I'll have to live with the beep...unless you want to set it up for me and email it????
