Not familiar with 270...but if you can connect to computer...
Open MY Computer and the Garmin unit will show with Garmin and User Data... click on User Data (SD card) and that should show your POI. Copy them to a file folder.

If you use BASECamp, I have a post tonight that may help as well..

Hope this helps!

POI on SD Card

....and you can just remove the SD card and insert in Computer and open and copy files.

Again not familiar with your 2720...assuming you can remove SD card..

Hope this helps!

I guess I didn't explain this enough the first time. I saved the files first to my computer, then I uploaded them to the SD card that is in my Garmin. Now I don't know how to bring them up to use them. I know for sure they are on the SD card.........but how do I see them to use them??

.

How did you "upload them to the SD card"?

Custom POIs need to be installed using POI Loader.

Did you do that?

.

Precisely. I'll bet they didn't, and just used raw .gpx or .csv files.

Or didn't go to "Extras"

If you used Poi Loader to correctly load the POI's, then merely press "Where To" / "Extras" (you may have to press the "down" arrow in the lower right hand corner) to find "Extras" / "Custom POI's."

Again, if you did everything correctly to load your POI's, this'll find 'em for you.

My answere

Since I do not have a 270 I will use the 1490 system.
I do not know how you uploaded the files to the card so I will assume you used the POI Loader program from Garmin and if not then do so. I upload the manual method.
When this is done then when you start the Garmin you will get a"Where to?" question. Pushing it will get you a screen of different options. There should be an arrow down with them which when pressed will bring up a new choice of options.
Press the "Extras" box and the words "Custom POIs" shows up and when you press it your POIs should show up.
