Run poi loader

Run poi loader http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/ .
When you see screen find device make sure you select the proper one. If using SD card use the pull down window .The arrow located across from device and selects the SD card. See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 for custom pois

useful info

Thanks. This is actually some useful information. My wife's nuvi is running out of space and I need to get stuff on her sd card.

I have been running my poi's from a card for years.

It works great. The only issue is the nag screen about putting them on the nuvi. I can't change that. It's a Garmin thing. I just deal with it.

It's only 4 digit models where you can't get rid of the nag screen. On the older models you can answer yes to transferring them and on the next screen is the option to cancel the transfer and not warn again. You have to do this every time a new file is written to the SD.

The redlight and speed camera files work fine for me. I've added an icon and wav audio as well. For folks with the cyclops file (paid or free trial), the two may alert at the same time but there's no software conflict for this when it's happened to me.

Yes, to update, download the new POI files to your computer and install them to your device with Garmin's POI Loader software. If you keep the file name the same for your installation as it was when you last installed it, the older file will be overwritten by the new one. The latest update date can be found on The Factory's home page and currently is:

Published weekly since 2006. Updated 1/30/2013.

Coverage for United States and Canada.

Camera changes this week in New Jersey, Florida, Arizona and Ontario .
