Vehicle's AUX Jack and two devices

Recently added the Nuvi 660 to my collection and after reading about some user's experience with the FM transmitter, I think plugging it into my car's AUX jack would made more sense.

The problem I have is that I already have my Sirius plugged into that port. Does anyone know of a device that would allow me to split the AUX so I can plug in both the Sirius and the 660, but give a priority to one of them?

ie: I have both plugged into the splitter, and am listening to the Sirius, but when the 660 makes an update (turn approaching, incomming phone call, etc), it cuts out the Sirius and it's heard?

I've had them before on motorcycle setups so when my two-way radio cut in, it would kill out any other sound, but I don't feel like tearing apart my car.

Worst case, I don't use the blue tooth feature while I'm listening to my Sirius, or just quickly swap the plugs. *grin*
Thanks.

Might have some kind of device...You could use a headphone splitter in reverse, but I don't know if having the Sirius output going into the 660's headphone jack would be a good thing over time or not...I'd lean towards not.

I know there are devices for home stereos that have two sets of RCA inputs on them and one output into an amp, and it switches based on which device is active...but those are not very mobile friendly.

Go to Crutchfield's web site, and click on the link to chat with an associate and see what they say.

Vehicle's AUX Jack and two devices

That's right! The simplest device is a 1/8" (3.5 mm) stereo Y-Adapter. A search in RadioShack or Crutchfield websites will give you a choice of applications:

Example:

Hope this helps

Don't think it will work

I don't see any way for the basic Y-adapter to work as the OP intends. If the Sirius is in use, and the nuvi "speaks" or a phone call is received, the Sirius reciever has no way to mute itself so the nuvi can take control of the input.

What I do see working is what Motorcyle Mama posted, the mixit thingy. (More precisely, the Mix-it2, as it has priority override)
