Can POIs generated for my Garmin be also used on a Hyundai nav system?

The answer is probably no but just in case someone has found a way to add poi groups to a car nav system, it would be nice to know. I'd like to get the nav system in my new car to be as flexible/useful as my Garmin is. Thanks

What and how does the

What and how does the hyundai updates it's nav database?

Re ACURA

My rep at ACURA says you can not add POI's to the in-car system in the MDX.

It's a shame that auto manufacturers don't have a "communications port" in their specs to the Nav System maker's requirements that can be accessed by the user. I'm sure the nav unit has some kind of communications port, but it is probably only intended for a repair facility to use for diagnostics. And you probably have to remove the unit from the dash to access it.

This has been discussed here before and as much as they charge for the unit, you would think that it would be much more versatile. Map updates are way over-priced when compared to TT or Garmin.

I will never get a built-in GPS unless they bring the price down and add flexibility.

WELL!!!!
If you have the Blue Link nav system, then you are in luck - but it's not a direct link!

See:

It's the very last item in the list. It looks like you can't send simple coordinates, but it's better than nothing.
