SIMULATOR

Actually, I was trying different things and yes there is a way, if you have a 3490 as an example that shows the speed limit and that limit can be adjusted, the simulator will go as fast as the
adjusted speed.

I can see the use for this

I can see the use for this feature but it would take forever for a long trip!

Is speed that important ?

I use the simulator and have never found the need nor reason to increase the travel speed.

1- When checking the RLC and speed file to see that it's properly loaded and working, I enter coordinates approximately 1/4 mile before the camera itself and then run the simulator. It takes just a few seconds before I see if everything is up and running well.

2- When I go on a trip (example Florida + 1600 miles away) I'll run the simulator to see what highways and interstates it wants me to take. I simply press the top bar on the screen in the simulation mode to see all the turns it will take. If ever it takes me on a route I don't want to, I'll just add a via to force it the way I want to go.

A simple reliable method to take you from point A to B no matter what the distance is in just minutes. smile

Cheers

Garmin Montanas can do this

Garmin Montanas can do this - its part of the compass dial when simulating. Press up to speed up, left to turn left, right to turn right.

If you just want to examine the route, you might also try calculating the route and zooming out on the map, or reviewing the turn list.
