Can you Load a POI to Mapsource on your PC

HI...getting ready to some traveling from the East Coast to CA.. So I have been asking a lot of questions today.

Using Mapsource on my PC to create my route to CA. This will entail many stops along the way via 75 to 10 to 20 back to 10 and to 8 to 15 etc.. Hope to use BW hotels as my stops..

I DL'd from the POIs the Best Western POI file to my GPS.

Now I would like to upload into MAPSOURCE on my PC... Is this possible??

Thanks..

From the EPE Help File

Find POI on Route

This feature of Extra POI Editor allows the user to find the POIs which are close to a route.

Open a file which contains POIs (for instance a file with all national locations for a hotel chain).
Merge Open a .gpx file which contains a route or multiple routes.
Click on Edit>Find POI on Route
The Find POI on Route window opens where a route can be chosen and the distance from the route can be set. If only one route is present, it is automatically selected. If multiple routes are present, then one must be selected.
"OK" processes the file so that only POIs (the hotels) which are within the specified distance from the route remain in the file.
"Cancel" halts the process and closes the window
The View All POIs on Map feature can be used to view the route with the POIs which match the distance criteria.
See Routes and Extra POI Editor for additional information on what Extra POI Editor can and cannot do with .gpx files containing routes.

NOTE: Since this process changes the original file by removing those POI which do not match the distance criteria, the user is prompted to save the file when it is closed. If "Yes" is chosen, then the altered file is saved with the same name as the original file. Therefore, if you still wish to have the original file, the altered file should be "Saved As" with a new file name to prevent the original from being over written.

,

Or rather than doing all that, make sure that you download the GPX file (or convert the CSV file to GPX) and then open the GPX file directly in MapSource.

Thanks

Thanks to jgermann for your explanation. I too had the same question and you saved me alot of work trying to figure it out on my own.
